Abstract

Studies using several detection techniques for rice tungro (viz: iodine test insect transmission serology and electron microscopy) confirmed the presence and widespread occurence of the disease in Tanjung Karang. The disease incidence however was very low (0.05) throughout the region. Among the different detection methods used the serological (latex flocculation) technique was found most useful and practical.
