Abstract

Transverse sections of mid-rib and petiole from five species of Peninsular Malaysian Simaroubaceae have been examined. Variation between species was found in several anatomical features including lamina symmetry thickness of palisade tissue epidermal trichomes. Two major groups of species may be recognised on the basis of anatomical features. Anatomical description is also given.
