Abstract
Palm oil mill effluent (POME) cake was evaluated as an inorganic fertiliser substitute in oil palm nurseries. At 4 kg. of POME per polybag (i.e. 26 percent of it in the soil mixture) the growth of seedlings was comparable with the standard estate practice of 220 g per seedling of compound fertiliser applied over nine months in eleven rounds
