Burdon J.N., . and Moore K.G., . The 'soft-nose' disorder of mango fruit. pp. 477-481. ISSN 0126-575X
Abstract
'Soft-nose' 'tip pulp' 'insidious fruit rot' and 'yeasty fruit rot' are all terms for what may be the same physiological disorder of mango fruit. The reason for such a wide range of names is the independent description of the disorder by workers throughout the world. 'Soft-nose' has long been cited as a calcium deficiency disorder and the causes and remedies for calcium deficiencies in fruit are numerous and complex. Ultimately only a full knowledge of the environmental conditions which cause the disorder or the use of resistant cultivars will totally prevent post-harvest losses from occuring.
