Abstract
The categorisation of Asystasia as a noxious weed in plantation agriculture is quite ambiguous and mainly circumstantial especially in oil palm fields. This trial showed no detrimental effects on growth and yield of oil palms over a five-year period when Asystasia was maintained as ground cover.
