There are some 54000 ha of grazing reserves managed by the Department of Veterinary Services (DVS) for pasture; but only a minimum is developed. However total area under rubber oil palm coconut and cocoa is around 3.0 million ha to say the least of which over 1.36 million ha is under oil palm. It is practicable and profitable to control weeds under oil palm canopy by grazing (fattening) Kedah Kelantan (KK) young male cattle at three two and one head per ha finishing to 250 kg to 280 kg within 20 months at an average daily weight gain (ADG of 210 gm 264 gm and 262 gm respectively) from the third year after transplanting of the oil palm seedlings. The average income from fattening KK male graziers to slaughter is 306.00 per ha spread over ten-year period
