Abstract

A study of distribution of ((Asystasia intrusa)) Bl. in a ((Pinus caribaea)) plantation was conducted in an area between latitudes 3 1' to 3 5' N and longitudes 101 4' to 101 43' E in Serdang Selangor. The vegetation of the study area was analysed using quadrats and line transects. Soils were sampled from each plot and along the transect. Soil edaphic factors i.e. moisture content organic matter porosity pH nitrogen phosphorus potassium calcium and magnesium contents were determined for each sample. The distribution of ((Asystasia intrusa)) Bl. exhibits patterns and they are correlated to soil edaphic factors such as organic matter pH nitrogen phosphorus potassium calcium and magnesium.
