Lim K.O., . Conversion of oil palm trunks to glucose - a preliminary study. pp. 441-443. ISSN 0126-575X
Abstract
Oil palm trunks were hydrolysed by dilute sulphuric acid at 100 degree centigrades to produce glucose. Depending on the method the samples were prepared for hydrolysis glucose yields (expressed as a percentage of the original oven dried weight of the sample) of between 10.5 to 25 percent were found. Compared to a maximum possible glucose yield of about 45 percent the results obtained were encouraging.
