Abstract
Dense media with specific gravity 1.217-1.220 efficiently separated meat and bone from small fish. The meat contained considerably less calcium/bone than meat from conventional meat minser. Propionic acid in the media helped to control mould growth in separated meat and prolonged storage life up to 3 to 4 months at ambient temperature (24 - 34 deg. C.)
