Abstract
Tomatoes were planted in six types of soilless growth media in polybags under plastic shed. The growth of the plant total dry weight and total number of fruits produced were best in cocopeat charcoal dust (2:1 v/v). The total weight of fruits produced in cocopeat (100 per cent) and cocopeat charcoal dust was nearly twice that produced by plants grown in peat and peat perlite. This study showed that cocopeat either by itself or as a mixture with charcoal dust can be used for growing tomatoes
