Kiew R., . Name changes for Malaysian plants: Begonia wrayi (Begoniaceae) and Jasminum aemulum (Oleaceae). pp. 311-317. ISSN 0025-1291
Abstract
The up-dating of Henderson's Malayan Wild Flowers (Dicotyledons) provides the opportunity to make nomenclatural changes. Begonia wrayi Hemsley is the earlier but overlooked name for the commonest Malayan begonia (called B. isoptera by Ridley and B. pseudoisoptera by Irmscher). The commonest Malayan wild jasmine which is a widespread and variable species has been given many names throughout its geographic range. Henderson called it J. bifarium but the name Jasminum aemulum which R. Brown gave to Australian specimens predated it. In the Flora of Java this species is confused with J. multiflorum a common ornamental from India. Full synonymy for J. aemulum within the Malaysian region is given
