Abstract
A survey conducted among 91 small-scale rubber growers in Kerala India revealed that though aware of the latest technologies in rubber cultivation they did not adopt them fully mainly due to capital scarcity. Always prone to the vagaries of a fluctuating and exploitative market they were highly dissatisfied about the price they received. Government intervention by way of a reasonably high floor price and promotion of small-scale rubber based industrial units locally can be of help in offering a remunerative price to the farmers thereby promoting the adoption of improved technology leading to increased volume of production
