Inhibition of polygalacturonase by fungicides

Abstract

A study was conducted on the effects of six fungicides on the production and activity of an extracellular enzyme of Colletotrichum gloeosporioides. The amount of polygalacturonase indicated that Benlate Topsin M Difolatan and Dithan M-45 inhibited the production and activity of the enzyme even though the effects varied with concentration. The inhibition of the fungicides on the production of the enzyme was higher than the effect on the activity of the enzyme.
