Abstract

Graft copolymers of natural and synthetic cis-7 4-polyisoprene with polyimethyl methacrylate) have been prepared by reaction of the polyisoprenes with azodicarboxy late-functional poly (methyl methacrylate). The reactivity of the functional polymer is compared with that previously observed for reactions of similarly functional polystyrene. Within an appropriate composition range the unvulcanised graft copolymers have elastomeric properties. The dependance of these properties on material and sample preparation conditions is discussed.
