Abstract

Mobile apps are the most useful tools for a traveller to book flights and hotels, planning travelling itinerary or even guides to travel green. Thus, this chapter explores various types of mobile apps that is suitable to be used by eco-friendly travellers. An extensive review has been made and presented through the four subtopics in this chapter. The following subtopics are (i) The mobile application development in tourism (ii) Usage of mobile apps among travellers (iii) Mobile apps for ecotourists (iv) Conclusion. This chapter will contribute to the existing knowledge on information technology used in ecotourism and highlight the potential of mobile apps in ecotourism.
