Abstract
The plantlets derived from somatic embryos of anthers of Hevea brasiliensis were first reported in the early 1980s which had different regeneration capacity. Anthers of H. brasiliensis CATAS 7-33-97 were cultured on MS media3 augmented with different concentrations of hormone. Through the concentrations of endogenous hormones of the somatic embryos we found that higher concentration of endogenous gibberellin existed in the regenerated somatic embryos but lower concentration of Indole-3 acetic acid zeatin or gibberellin in those calluses that have capacity for plant regeneration formation. The results showed how endogenous hormone changed during somatic embryogenesis. This study therefore deduced that the various organogenesis capabilities of anthers explants from H. brasiliensis were the results of their endogenous hormonal contents which will be helpful for in vitro propagation of H. brasiliensis.
