Abstract

Alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) and orchard grass (Dactylis glomerata L.) were grown on Nopporo diluvial Shinotsu alluvial Uenai pumice volcanic and Bibai peat soil. Eight different fertilizer treatments were used for a period of 5 years. The plants were harvested at optimum stage for feeding of dairy cattle. Analysis of forage yield and mineral composition especially selenium and sulphur were done
