Abstract
This paper will bring the bacterial insecticide Bacillus thuringiensis into scientific and industrial perspectives. It will address their special ecological niche in the context of tropical agricultural practices both presently and in the future. Highlights of current developments in the selection of efficacious strains world wide (inclusive of genetic manipulations) high performance formualtions and dispersal techniques will be discussed. Studies pertaining to a choice subspecies B. thuringiensis subsp. aizawai will be elaborated
