Abstract

Acacia mangium is the major species for the Compensatory Plantations. Thus the emphasis has to be given to breeding works on this particular species in order to produce uniform plantation with superior genetic quality. The first task of these strategies is to establish selected and superior clones of A. mangium. Projection from the cloning the clonal seed orchard and hybridization works of Acacia species will be carried out. Clonal and progeny test will be the major tools for testing the performance of the clones hybrids and progenies from the clonal seed orchard. Isozyme test will be carried out for clones and hybrids identification.
