Abstract

This paper discusses the effects of different frequencies of N and K fertilizer application in one trial and different areas of application of fertilizers in mature oil palms in two trials on Serdang and Munchong series soils in Peninsular Malaysia. Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) yield and vegetative measurement results indicate that the main response in the frequency of application trial was to the rate of fertilizer N. Application N (ammonium nitrate) at twice a year and K (muriate of potash) at once a year appears to be adequate as application at higher frequencies did not show any significant advantage
