Abstract

This study describes some qualitative aspects of locomotion and positional behavior of dusky Leaf monkeys (Tachypithecus obscurus) in Penang Botanical Garden. Intensive observation with continous observation was carried out for 18 days during June and December 2006. Qualitative results demonstrated the locomotion modes of langurs consisted of leaping moving quadrupedally and moving bipedally. The postures comprised of inactive feeding and vertical clinging.
