Abstract
Protected Forest within the 4.71 million hectares of the Permanent Forest Estate in Peninsular Malaysia appears to be glamorous in management since the main visible revenue earner has been the Production Forest. However the management of Protected Forest which is about 1.9 million hectares in size are being given equal importance due to the environmental services it provides.
