Abstract
A study on the composition and density of Macaca fascicularis was conducted from January to December 1998 in Kuala Lumpur. The main objective of this study was to determine the group composition total individual number and density of M.fascicularis in the area. The result showed that there was a total of 952 individuals in 41 groups in Kuala Lumpur. The highest number of monkeys was found in the University of Malaya compound. In general the group composition consisted mainly of juveniles (41.1 ) adult females (29.4) adult males (15.4) and infants 18.8) while the sex of 5.3 could not be determined.
