Abstract
A preliminary study on the insect fauna was carried out at the request of Putrajaya's Authority between 14 August to 5 September 1998. Specimen collections was made on two occasion in the secondary forest within the plantation. A total of 122 specimens comprising of 59 species from 29 families and 8 orders were collected. Lepidoptera (butterflies and moths) showed the highest species diversity. Species diversity from the other 7 orders ranged from 2 to 5 species.
