Abstract

Fewer River Terrapin (Batagur baska) were observed on nesting sand bars during 1986/87 in Bota Kanan Perak as compared to the previous years. From a total of 5 nesting sites surveyed only 8 152 eggs were collected. Several factors may account for this decline including habitat destruction egg exploitation poaching and unfavorable climatic conditions.
