Abstract
A total of 220 species belonging to 162 genera and 79 families of higher plants were enumerated from Gunung Jerai, Kedah during the one-week expedition. A few species of higher plants are newly added to the current checklist of plants known from Gunung Jerai. There are seven new records for Kedah, 10 Peninsular Malaysia endemic taxa of which half being Gunung Jerai endemics i.e. Corybas geminigibbus, Geostachys rupestris, Neolitsea kedahense, Paphiopedilum callosum and Sonerila linearis. Orchids taxa are particularly plentiful. Many elements of the various forest types of Peninsular Malaysia are also found here.
