Abstract

The output from GIS is subject to a range of errors depending upon the source of remotely sensed and other data and the method of analysis used to develop the various information layers. It is argued that a parallel probability map should form an essential part of the output product of a GIS. This paper examines some of the locational and thematic error considerations necessary to develop such a probability map.
