Abstract

Movement flexibility is the main reason of human labor usage specifically in material handling activity. Eventhough manual lifting activity done by salak pondoh workers has caused low back pain occurence because of heavy lifting less good work position and posture and high wotk repetition as well. It has been observed that lifting activity and taking a basket of 100 kgs salak pondoh resulted forces of 4744 Newtons salak pondoh lifting element and 2540 Newtons of taking salak pondoh activity. The measurement is done in a condition were height location lies on truck container with - 140 cms and the calculation of pressure strength amount on backbone disk L5/S1 using 3DSSPP software program. Normal Action Limit recommended by the NIOSH for salak pondoh handling work is 3400 Newtons. It is concluded that lifting element of workers lies above allowed action limit.
