Abstract
Seaweed is one of the important marine agricultural commodities from the island of Nusa Penida Bali. Seaweed is cultivated traditionally in this area and sold directly to the collectors then exported to Singapore Hongkong Japan and many other countries. Seaweed production should follow many routes namely: cultivating conservancy picking collecting and processing. Picking is done in sea water with standing and stopping working posture positions. With current condition the workers feel fatigue and musculoskeletal complaints during and after working especially at waist neck and shoulder. These complaints were caused by stopping posture low working surface and heavy lifting of materials. To overcome these subjective complaints an intervention was done by utilizing ex-inner tube so that working surface quite higher to avoid stooping posture together with lighter lifting work. The was design based on treatment by subjects. The musculoskeletal complaints were assessed by using Nordic Body Map. The results indicated that there was a decrease in musculosketal complaints and decrease work load of farmers.
