Abstract

Bagasse a lignocellulosic material has been used as low-cost adsorbent for the removal of methylene blue MB dye from the aqueous solutions. The kinetic behavior of MB adsorption onto tartaric acid TA modified bagasse from aqueous solutions were investigated by changing various experimental factors e.g. initial pH adsorbent dosage temperature dye concentration and contact time. The adsorption equilibrium data were then fitted to Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm models. The results show that the adsorption process followed Langmuir isotherm as well as the Freundlich isotherm and pseudo-second-order kinetic model. The process was found to be endothermic in nature.
