Abstract

The removal of pesticide from aqueous solution using a commercial zeolite was investigated initially under a batch experimental condition. The pesticide which is well known as herbicide utilized in this study was a paraquat dichloride. The commercial zeolite has been used and analysed as the adsorbent material. The Langmuir and Freundlich adsorption isotherms models were applied to describe the characteristics of adsorption behaviour. The results show that the equilibrium data fitted very well to the Langmuir model in the entire size of particles 1.00mm 0.425mm and 0.063mm.
