Abstract
This paper gives a brief overview on the practical experience of a glulam manufacturer in New Zealand. It includes the need of a quality manufacturing process, quality control, and other essential elements in the technology such as timber, kiln drying, preservative treatment, end jointing, gluing and finishing. Included are some observations on building structures in New Zealand, Australia, The Pacific Islands. Micronesia, Hong Kong, Europe and the Middle East.
