Abstract

Covariance functions and random regression models were fit to estimate genetic parameters for growth. Body weight records of Hanwoo population at Daekwanryung branch of National Livestock Research Institute from 1970 to 2001 were collected. Direct heritability estimates showed similar pattern to quadratic and cubic model. The peak in direct heritability estimates occurred to 23 months weight. Estimates from quadratic and cubic models agreed with those obtained by univariate analysis.
