Abstract

Dimethomorph a cinnamic acid derivative fungicide was evaluated against durian patch canker and the residue in the edible fruit determined. In-vitro evaluation showed that dimethomorph completely suppressed fungal mycelial growth and inhibited sporangial production. In field experiments dimethomorph was highly effective for the control of durian patch canker disease. No residue was detected in the fruit following field application. In conclusion dimethomorph gave excellent protectant curative and anti-sporulant activity against patch canker disease with no detectable residues in the fruit.
