Abstract

The black cocoa ant was found to be effective in the control of the cocoa pod borer in two types of agroecosystems: cocoa-coconut and monococoa. The ant was observed to be more effective in the control of the pest compared with insecticides. Relative to insecticidal control use of the ant was initially higher but the total cost should be lower if comparison is made over a longer period.
