Abstract

During anacute infestation ofcockchaferbeetles Adorestus compressus occurringinafield of newly planted oil palms conventional knapsack sprayer F 120 knapsack sprayer and motorised knapsack mistblower were evaluated. After 6 rounds of 2 weekly spraying of cyperrnethrin 0.005 the three sprayers were found suitable and recorded significant reduction of severe damaged fronds in the upper and middle position. Similarly these 3 knapsack equipment were evaluated for the control of rhinoceros beetles Oryctes rhinoceros in immature oil palms second year of field planting.
