Abstract
Interactions between Rhizobium spp. and arbuscular fungi were examined in sainfoin Onobrychis viciifolia Scop. cv. Fakir from germination to green inflorescence development. Gigaspora margarita Becker and Hall Glomus fasciculatus Thax. sensu Gerd. Gerdemann and Trappe and Glomus tenuis Greenall Hall produced a sparse infection after day 115. Late mycorrhizal formation probably used minimal carbon energy and did not significantly increase phosphate uptake improve nodulation and dinitrogen fixation or increase plant growth
