Abstract
Taphrina leaf spot of turmeric caused by Taphrina maculans B. is one of the most important disease of tumeric in Nagaland and many other states of India. Crops grown with half mother rhizomes and fingers in April and May exhibited excellent growth till September and suffered least from disease. In October and November 5-10 percent incidence was recorded as against full mother rhizomes which showed 50-90 percent disease indicence and high level of intensity. Application of balanced dose of NPK fertilizers 100:80:80 also had tremendous effect in reducing the disease incidence as against control
