Abstract
The desire of lower calorie, low fat and healthier eating has stimulated interest in the development of many healthful food ingredients for consumers around the world. Litesse, Alitame, Salatrim and Sorbestrim are pfizer’s range of Lite and healthful ingredients. The paper following this abstract describes our experience (including safety studies and clinical evaluation) for these ingredients, all with a view of demonstrating the versality and efficacy in product development namely in the beverage, soft drinks, frozen dairy dessert, confectionery and baked goods.
