Abstract

There is evidence that Substance P SP a neuropeptide comprised of 11 amino acids can modulate the immune system. It was found that intramuscular injection of SP into Plasmodium berghei-infected mice resulted in longer survival time of the host. SP seems to be able to suppress parasitic infection in mice
