Abstract

Pharmacognosical parameters of Blumea balsamifera DC Compositae were established for single powder which serves as parameters for authentication and quality control of the crude drug. The reference standards chemical markers were identified as flavanone. Phytochemical studies on the leaves of Blumea balsamifera DC resulted in the isolation of 6 flavonoids. The structures werededuced and characterized as velutin tamarixetin rhamnetin luteolin luteolin 7-methylether and quercetin on the basis of different spectral method such as UV IR and NMR.
