Abstract
Tropical and subtropical climates similar to the native habitats of many orchids provide an opportunity to use orchids as landscape subjects. This paper discusses the use of both epiphytic and terrestrial orchid species and hybrids as landscape and garden subjects including the selection of appropriate host trees installation and maintenance. A list of recommended orchids based on the authors experience in subtropical South Florida USA is presented.
