Abstract

This paper briefly provides an introduction to the reservation history resource and past management practices undertaken in Matang Mangrove Forest. It then proceeds to present the basic principles employed in the formulation of the traditional 10 years working plan. These principles are unique to Matang Mangrove and have been developed and tested over time which applies perfectly to the changing environmental social and economic management silviculture yield and regulation allocation conservation social and economic importance and benefits as the basic ingredients in the successful management of the Matang Mangroves Forest for almost a century.
