Abstract

The incorporation of fire retardants monoammonium phosphate boric acid and borax improved the fire propagation performance of the board. Treatment with monoammonium phosphate and boric acid at the rate of 20 percent by weight of the dried chips improved the propagation values I by more than 50 percent. The values were less than 25 and qualified for the surface spread rating of class I. The propagation sub-index i(-1) for all treatments was less than 6
