Several coconut hybrid varieties namely NAWA (MRD/MYD x WAT hybrid) MAREN (MRD/MYD x RLT hybrid) local hybrid (MRD/MYD x MT) and CRD x WAT hybrids were evaluated in PPPTR. Results are given on early vegetative measurements frond production flowering and yields. These studies showed that all the hybrids were more vigorous and gave earlier flowering as compared with the Malayan Tall. For yields the MAWA and the CRD x WAT hybrids are the most promising.
