Abstract
Ginger as the main crop can be compatibly intercropped with long bean and cucumber without affecting its yield and that of the intercrops. The recommended fertilizer levels for the individual crop of ginger long bean and cucumber in the intercropping system are given. Long bean should be planted as the second rather than the third crop in the cropping sequence to produce higher yield. From the estimated yield and total net returns per hectare the best cropping sequence was ginger followed by long bean and cucumber.
