Abstract
A new species of gecarcinucid freshwater crab Phricotelphusa amnicola is described from Gunung Jerai Kedah Peninsular Malaysia. This is only the third gecarcinucid species known from Peninsular Malaysia. The new species is distinguished from its closest congener P. hockpingi from Perak in the form of the anterolateral and frontal margins external orbital angle exopod of the third maxilliped chelipeds and male first and second pleopods
