Abstract
The peat swamp crab Parathelphusa maindroni (Rathbun 1902) (Brachyura Gecarcinucoidea Parathelphusidae) is recorded from Peninsular Malaysia for the first time. The species first described from the island of Bengkalis near Sumatra appears to be associated with blackwaters despite its acidity and low calcium concentrations. The taxonomy of the species is clarified
