Abstract
Bermuda grass (Cynodon dactylon) is a noxious weed in coconut which spreads by seeds stolons and rhizomes. Within three months 5 m of rhizomes are produced. Most of the rhizomes are located in the upper 20 cm of soil. Effective control is achieved with various graminicides including glyphosate which is translocated extensively within the shoot-rhizome system. After foliar spraying the herbicide should not be washed away by rain for more than 24 hours to get optimum control. Other control methods also exist
