Abstract
The accelerator combination-TMTD/thiocarbanilide-was tried in NR latex. The transparency of latex films prepared with TMTD/thiocarbanilide combination was found to be superior compared to those films prepared with ZDC/TMTD system. The mechanical properties and ageing resistance of the vulcanisates were compared with those containing ZDC/TMTD accelerator combination. Vulcanisates prepared with TMTD/thiocarbanilide system showed faster curing rate higher tensile properties and better ageing resistance in comparison to ZDC/TMTD system.
